This bloodtrail is 100% real.
All the pictures, stories and video are exactly as it happened
on the Pennsylvania season opener on Saturday, 10/2/99. We are
going to step you through this extremely difficult trail to see
what decisions you would have made. Good Luck!
You have just returned from an uneventful morning. You change
and are relaxing back at the cabin when your hunting buddy Bill
comes in and explains that he hit one this morning. You are the
experienced tracker, your buddy is looking to you for guidance.
Bill goes on to tell you that the deer was walking, he picked
a spot but did not compensate for the fast pace of the deer.
- The shot was fifteen yards and dead broadside.
- The hit looked like it was a gut hit
- The deer humped up as it ran off, tail up and in a hurry
- Blood and hair is found at the location of the shot
- Bill waited 1 hour before quietly leaving his stand
- The deer, a doe, was with two yearlings. They hung around
after the shot then disappeared behind Bill's stand in the thickets.
They returned a little later to the shot area.
- There are a lot of deer in the area.
- There is no threat of rain until Saturday evening - it is
currently a clear, sunny day in the 60's.
- The time of the shot was 8:00 AM.
Here is the diagram of the location indicating
