This bloodtrail is 100% real.
All the pictures, stories and video are exactly as it happened
on the Pennsylvania season opener on Saturday, 10/2/99. We are
going to step you through this extremely difficult trail to see
what decisions you would have made. Good Luck!
You take the lead and start tunneling through the bushes.
You find the arrow a short distance away - it confirms stomach
matter and little blood in the area. The blood trail is more
consistent and easier to follow. Bill trails behind you. A time
check reveals it is now nearly 6:00 PM.
You continue on until you see an opening just in front
of you. As you bust out of the bushes you are face to face with
the deer.
It is still alive and looking at you!
You are only 4 yards away, it is really hurt and has not
stood up yet. Here are your options:
1. Try to stand up and get another
arrow into him (remember, it's Bill's deer).
2. Swap positions with Bill and let
him finish off the deer.
3. Back off and wait him out - it
is nearly impossible to shoot anyway.
4. Attempt to get any arrow into
the deer from your crouched position. More blood will only help.
