This bloodtrail is 100% real.
All the pictures, stories and video are exactly as it happened
on the Pennsylvania season opener on Saturday, 10/2/99. We are
going to step you through this extremely difficult trail to see
what decisions you would have made. Good Luck!
While at the walking trail, Bill and you search closely
for blood. Confirmation here would be helpful in determining
your next course of action. At this point, there is a strong
suspicion that the deer is in this area based on one of the statements
Bill made at the beginning of the trail (hint, check clue 1).
You search closely for blood and you find a good amount of blood
smudged on a leaf. All right! This just saved you an hour or
more of precious time.
Let's look at the map to find out where you are:
You have located no further blood sign and it's now 5:30
PM. The thickets around the pond and in back of Bill's treestand
are incredibly dense, in fact it is not possible to stand upright
in them. Based on the clue mentioned at the beginning of the
trail something should click and give you an indication that
the deer is very close. What is your best option at this point:
1. Continue searching for blood
2. Go to the pond and check the pond
area out before doing a grid search
3. Start your search grid now, in
the thickets, below the pond
4. Get downwind and 'sniff out' the
deer
